As of February 1, 2014, every new home built in Alberta is protected under warranty. Alberta’s New Home Buyer Protection Act encourages even higher quality standards, making sure your new home stands the test of time.

In respect to a renovation, the "New Home Warranty" is applicable to the area(s) of your home that you have renovated. This means you get a new home warranty on whatever is new from the renovation. So if your renovation includes a new furnace, you get that warrantied as per the new home renovation warranty.
